Who We Really Are
Sometime in year 2004, a group of close friends and associates; mainly Lagos state workers came to gather to play football on Sundays at the Lagos State House premises along Marina. This became a form of leasure to wrap up the weekends.
As the number of participants increased, a few of the attendees came together and decided to take the gathering to a higher level by forming an elite group.
On Thursday 22nd of September 2005, the very first and official meeting was held at 6:30pm prompt at the A-Bar situated along Idowu Taylor in Victoria Island.
Present at the meeting were:
Mr. O. Akinwole (Nominated Group Coordinator); Dr. O. Gbadegesin (Asst. Group Coordinator); Dr. R. Desalu; Hon. B. Benson;
Mr. H. Muri-Okunola; Mr. B. Gaji; Mr. Tayo Egunjobi; Mr. Tope Egunjobi; Mr. Nzan Ogbe; HRH .R. Elegushi; Mr. B. Adeuja;
Mr. R. Muri-Okunola; Mr. L. Kupoluyi; Mr. M. Soyinka and Mr. T. Subir.
During the meeting, the group decided to officially name the club JFC - a name adopted from a slogan which was used to salute some of the Lagos state workers and those associated with them.
A few months later, in 2006, the football venue was moved from Marina to Astroturf 2000 in Ikoyi and finally to Funturf along Admiralty Road in Lekki, Lagos State.
